-
Week 3: Getting Connected
During week three you will have the opportunity to learn more about our Next Steps and how to formally commit yourself to Bayview Glen Church through ministry partnership!
Ministry Partnership through the Discovery Course
Some churches call it membership. At Bayview, we call it ministry partner. We believe each ministry partner at Bayview Glen Church is a vital component in pursuing God’s vision for His Church.
When you make the decision to become a ministry partner at Bayview, you’re making a formal commitment to our church community as part of God’s plan to make us more like Jesus.
Our ministry partnership is open for all who affirm Bayview’s statement of faith, uphold and share our values, and go through the baptism course.
Our ministry partners make up the governing body, commit to pray for one another, and commit our resources in order to pursue God’s vision for our church. Most importantly, being an active, engaged part of the local church congregation is a critical aspect in your growth in Christ.
Your Stories
I attended one church most of my life, but due to moving, I have been a part of two other churches for a season. We joined Bayview Glen in Sept 2021, and it is the fourth church I've called home.
In each of these transitions, the best way to start making a new church feel like home is to just jump in right away with both feet and not wait to be asked. So my husband and I attended the first Discovery Course offered after we started attending BG. I appreciated getting to know some other attendees, and some staff, hearing about BG's mission statement and hearing about ways to get involved. This course served as a launchpad to start building my new faith community and get involved in serving areas.

My husband and I were so glad that we joined the course because this was where we met new friends and got to talk to key people in church leadership who clarified our questions and concerns.
I particularly enjoyed the breakout rooms, where we were given a chance to share our testimonies and discover our spiritual gifts together. The Discovery Course gave us a community – friends we were pleased to meet in real life eventually. It was a great experience, overall, and I thank the Lord for allowing us to take part in it! We both recognized that a big part of our growth and maturity in the faith would come from the involvement and influence of the church we attend.
